Option to disable automatic update check
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
There is no need of a constant reminder that there is an updated version of the software every time it is open, if I do not want to upgrade yet.
Describe the solution you'd like Option 1 -> disable check update Option 2 -> Ignore this version of update
Option 2 should be better to avoid keeping old versions in the wild.
Thanks, ToledoEM
would be nice as a command-line switch, e.g., storageexplorer.exe -no-update
Any update for this?
+1. This is really bothering. It keeps on showing and hiding the tabs you want to click. Please make this option configurable.
Adding my comment here, as I opened issue #7811, I didn't see this issue when creating a new one...
Couple of suggestions:
-
Do not show the setting in the interface, that way it has to be configured manually in the settings.json file. This extra step would deter most of the users from disabling the update notification.
-
Perhaps make this setting only usable in a managed environment? As an example, managing the updates settings for Google Chrome requires that the PC be "domain-joined" or "MDM-managed" (https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6350036?hl=en).
Sorry to keep harping at this but I took a quick look around the forum and could see at leat three other issues/feature requests that are open and are related to the update behavior.
