No success with maps api v1 reliant applications

Open Nixbligger opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

Hello there,

I am quite unsure if I missed something obvious, but after installing the flashable zip (latest release, following the wiki instructions), the situation didn't really change for good on my phone. The three (unfortunately for me quite essential) apps that I know to rely on the maps api v1, at least in former attempts to get rid of google services, are either still not installable/recoverable (HVV and Stadtrad Hamburg) or not showing proper replacements of a map view (Öffi 8.99.1-google). In the case of Öffi, my S3 rather shows a window asking which app should be used to open the location (only option is opening osmand for me).

Can someone point me in the right direction? Or rather help me to make this a proper error report, if it ain't?

Thank you and best regards, Nix

Also no luck so far. @mar-v-in do you have an example-app where this framework does work?

In Öffi, the map should be visible when using the app in landscape mode. HVV+Stadtrad use maps api v2 in current versions.

Most modern apps do no longer use maps v1, as it was replaced and no api keys are provided for new apps anymore (since quiet some time). If you have problems with maps not being displayed or not being displayed correctly, that's caused by maps api v2, which is handled as of GmsCore.

thanks! will check GmsCore issues.
