F-Droid updated UnifiedNlp and now it isn't recognized by microG

Open MetalNeo opened this issue 5 years ago • 5 comments

There was an update for UnifiedNlp on F-Droid (0.2.9.19420 released on 10/21/19). After installing the app and restarting, microG Services Core starts and stops constantly until I stop it myself. When I check the self-test, it doesn't seem to detect it, even though F-Droid still says it's installed.

OS: microG LineageOS Fork built on 10/21/19 Model: cheeseburger (OnePlus 5) microG Services Core: 0.2.9.19420 F-Droid Package: UnifiedNlp (no GAPPS)

Same on my device (payton). MicroG is not registered in my system.

Possibly related to https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/964 and https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/issues/948 – until those are solved, a downgrade to 0.2.8 should work around the problem (see those issues for details).

Thank you! That solved it for me. I'll be waiting for a future fix in the meantime.

Happened to me on an angler. F-Droid wouldn't let me downgrade (was giving me error 25), so I had to go into application settings and disable / enable microG Services Core in order to downgrade to the system installed version. Which clears microG's data, and so then I had to reinstall all my apps so that they reregister their GCM connections. Welp, now I've learned to blacklist updates to microG until I've backed up microG and it's data first.
