OCR Scanner doesn't not work

The OCR functionality on the apps that have OCR feature its not working and saying the Google Play Service Errror

I can confirm that there appears to be a problem with Google Play Services based OCR via microG, version 0.2.19.211515-10(f01fd23)-vtm. Google Play Services based barcode detection and face detection works OK via microG, but text detection currently does not work at all, giving error messages like

Hmm, this is unfortunate since it makes the vaccine certificate app in Japan unusable :sob: I wonder how hard this would be to implement?

The com.google.android.gms.vision.ocr service is now also needed (during signup) by the BankID app used extensively in (at least) the Nordic countries. I hope this can get fixed at some point. I'd take a popup where you could enter the characters by hand if that could be a workaround, or perhaps it could take characters from the clipboard.

I would also hope for a fix of this. having BankID is more or less necessary for a relatively normal participation in society if you live in Sweden. You now have to scan two text rows on your passport (image-text recognition) to renew it, which does not work. unfortunately removes microg as an alternative..

late edit: for anyone running into this issue in the near future, using (at time of writing not stable) release 0.3.0.233515 works! thank you all!
