Microg f-droid repo still suggests version 0.2.27

Open nidico opened this issue 1 year ago • 7 comments

The microg fdroid repo lists version 0.2.27.223616 of GmsCore as the "suggested" version - therefore F-Droid doesn't propose an update to newer versions.

I assume this is due to releaseChannels being set to Beta for versions 0.2.28 to 0.3.0 in http://microg.org/fdroid/repo/index-v2.json - is this intended? Are those versions really considered beta?

The nightly version on https://microg.org/dl/core-nightly.apk is also outdated.

The latest version is here: https://microg.org/download.html You have to use the drop-down menu and select the preview versions.

I guess that there are reasons to keep them suggested. For example, these versions still support location modules, while later versions do not.

Just enable "Unstable updates" in "Expert mode".

For info: The nightly is not the newest build.

Which one is better? preview release or stable release? Because after I updated to the preview version I couldn't downgrade to the stable version.

This is what I did using f-droid client:

1 2 3 4

By the way I use LineageOS for microG.
