[com.enflick.android.TextNow] TextNow - Fails to log into account June 2023

Describe the bug TextNow fails to login, On the login page for an existing account, entering the Email address, and Password results in an error message that reads: "An error has occurred. We are having trouble accessing your account. Please try again."

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Launch TextNow
2. Click on "Already have an account? Log In"
3. Select Log In with Email
4. Enter email, password, and accept terms, then click "Log In"
5. Fails to login and displays the error message "An error has occurred. We are having trouble accessing your account. Please try again."

Expected behavior A successful login should occur

System Android Version: 13 Custom ROM: CalyxOSOS 4.10.1

microG microG Core version: 0.2.27.223616-39 (9803dc4) microG Self-Check results: All ticked, except for "Permission to This app can appear on top of other apps" I also added the permission so that TextNow could appear on top of other apps, and I am receiving the same exact error

Also happens on LineageOS for microG, tested with v0.2.29. As far as I can tell it doesn't have anything to do with safetynet.

This happens to me as well I thought this was a calyxos issue I have made an issue there with a similar description including screenshots. Reference: GitLab #1793 I tried the nightly build which there was no difference the issue seems to be with microG itself. I hope this gets solved quickly as I use textnow as my phone & text service I cannot activate my sim from them which requires me to use their app & login in order to activate my sim.

I experience the issue as well on LineageOS with microG. Logging in doesnt work with any of the options, I've tried facebook, google and email.

Also having this same issue, on LineageOS for microG on my LG V30 (joan), using latest rom [lineage-20.0-20240209-microG-joan.zip]

Precisely the same issue here on an LG V20 h910. I've got lineageOS standard (didn't even realize there was a fork bundled with MicroG XD), patched it with FakeGapps through LXposed, installed microG through Fdroid repository.

@mar-v-in Is this issue going to get fixed it's not a good sign when something has been left broken for over a year. Not being able to use this app to call or text people is really a problem. It's ashame I have to keep another device on a proprietary os just to use this app because well this issue has been hanging for over a year left unresolved.

Is MicroG even still being worked on or has this been abandoned & should be archived? I don't see anything new happening.
