AquaMail Pro reports "Unable to check license state" -- microG 0.2.24.214816 on CrDroid 8.7

I have an apparently flawless install of microG 0.2.24.214816 on CrDroid 8.7 on a few Redmi Note 9 Pro (joyeuse / miatoll) devices rooted with Magisk 25.2 with Zygisk. microG was installed with microG Installer Revived 2.6.2-0; one "test" device was updated a moment ago with microG Installer Revived 2.6.3-0

microG self-check reports back with everything checked.

  • Signature Spoofing double check: Oprek Detector indicates signature is spoofed
  • SafetyNet Attestation double check: passes in YASNAC

These devices each have 4 previously paid GooglePlay apps: NovaLauncher, aCalendar+, FolderSync Pro and AquaMail Pro

Each installed with Aurora Store (logged into a Google Play account), with the exception of AquaMail Pro the apps work flawlessly.

AquaMail Pro initially installs AND offers the pro features, but this somehow "times out" within a week.

At that point, AquaMail Pro reports "Unable to check license state. Tap here to confirm you license."

Doing so launches the AquaMail Pro Unlocker. Tapping "check license" yields the error: "Error communicating with Google Play Application."

FYI: uninstalling AquaMail Pro and reinstalling through Aurora Store unlocks all pro features for another week or so at which point the cycle begins again.

It seems to me AquaMail Pro may somehow be hardcoded to look for the actual Play Store as opposed to the services exposed therein.

Any and all advice on how to fix this (without installing Play Store, obviously) would be appreciated.

If I'm not wrong the license check is in Play Store so there is nothing to do without Play Store. But you can ask to the developers of AquaMail Pro if they can provide an alternative activation method.
