GMail works with personal accounts but fails to sync GApps accounts

I'm using CalyxOS with MicroG 0.2.21.212158-44.

GMail works fine for all the personal (@gmail.com) accounts but indefinitely waits for sync for corporate (GApps for domains) accounts.

In case I open "account sync" in preferences, press 3 dots and then "sync now" either nothing happens (most of the time) or an indescriptive error message appears ("sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly").

Is there any chance of a fix?

I'm facing the same problem with AEX-nougat. But, didn't encounter this problem in android 9. So I think it's OS related ? or some problem with certification ?

I get this problem as well on huawei HOS 4.2.0. Cal, Gmail, meet, etc all fail to sync and load on work account but personal is fine. In theory I would be willing to do the dev work to fix it but wouldn't know where to start unless pointed in the right direction
