Beta features (re-upload) not working at all on device

Open camayl opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

reuploading annotated pdf's works on my phone (android 9) perfectly.

however it's simply not working on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S (android 6.0.1) where I really need it. Whenever I annotate in Xodo and close the file, changes are not saved (so annotations are lost on reopening the pdf on same device), nor prompted to reupload.

Could you think of a possible fix for this? I would love to support the app if I could use it on my tablet, it would be a gamechanger for me!!

Things I tried:

  • switch webdav host (pcloud, koofr, driveonweb)
  • switch pdf reader (xodo, adobe, foxit)
  • reinstall
  • restart

Hi, for me annotations are persistent when setting the "Attachments Location" to a Custom Path in the settings.

Wow thanks that actually worked for me as well!

@thomasverelst My annotations are persistent with the custom path but they are not automatically re-uploaded. Why? I have the "offer to upload" selected.

Sounds like a bug with the change detection. It only checks for changes just after opening so if you make changes after downloading then it won't be detected.

Thanks Mick, is there any way around this? Does it mean I have to manually load the pdf on my e-reader so I can open without download? Is this flag reset after the upload is done? Because if I a force the re-upload and make modification I am still not prompted to re-upload.

The best way would be for me to change detection to be based on the file's modification time and that should be quick enough for me to check every file at launch. As of now however there is no work around.
