Dynamic opacity fade out animation speed doesn't match with shell

In the extension preferences disabling Appearance > Use built-in theme and making the opacity Dynamic (with a minimum of 0% and pitch black dash background color for easier visibility) the fade out animation is significantly slower than the top bar of GNOME 44.2 Shell:

I've disabled all other extensions except Dash to Dock to make sure they weren't interfering.
