dash-to-dock
dash-to-dock copied to clipboard
Active icon has square non-rounded corners
Sometimes the shadow of the icons in the dash is "strange", like this: https://i.imgur.com/BdSZUtI.png
After a while, the shadow goes back to being "normal" https://i.imgur.com/KJER5cO.png
Downstream Ubuntu bug: https://launchpad.net/bugs/1965123
I experience this as well on Manjaro.
I've indeed got this too, it's quite hard to reproduce it though... But it looks more a rendering issue at shell theme level.
Running with GNOME_SHELL_SLOWDOWN_FACTOR=20 today I was able to see the missing corners during an app launch animation (icon scales up).
I also found similar problem in my Fedora Linux 37 (Workstation Edition) Using the default settings in dash to dock but changed the icon size to 32 .... All other settings in the OS is default ... no theme changed... just icon changed to Tela blue dark... Also changed to other icons to see if the problem was related to icons....found similar problems using other icons too....
Can be reproduced when launching an app which is not pinned in the dock...in this case clapper is not pinned ... So the shadow occurred in case of clapper app...

Running the mouse over the icon with the broken rendering normally fixes it for me, and it only seems to happen to non-pinned apps for me.
i also have this problem on ubuntu 23.10 default configuration
A workaround has landed in version 89: https://github.com/micheleg/dash-to-dock/commit/46b81aeb4bf18d2f8a75fbf2d0ef6c047f3711f2
Please tell us if you continue to see the issue.
I’m very glad that work is underway on this bug, thank you very much I installed the manualy in .local/share/gnome-shell/extention/ the latest version from Github, unfortunately the problem remains, I will attach photos and videos to this letter, I hope it will be visible, if necessary I can record it via obs. If you need any more information about my system, let me know. Short (Fresh, arch, waylnad )

This should be fixed upstream in GNOME anyway now, can this be closed?

Maybe it can be closed for dash-to-dock, but I've reopened it for Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965123
yes, thank you
