Double dash-to-dock on activities, all-application...

I've disabled ubuntu-dock, therefore I don't have the double dock. However when viewing activities or all-apps (super+a shortcut), I can see two dash-to-dock, one on the left and one on the bottom of the screen.

Is there a way to avoid it?

I'm just setting up a new laptop, and getting this behaviour (which I don't see on my old desktop). It is quite annoying! Any guidance on dealing with this would be appreciated.

Ubuntu 22.04.6 LTS / I assume v. shell-45 for dash-to-dock
