Issues entering text

I love this library but I'm having the following issues, using Galaxy S8+ Oreo 8.0

1. I tap the widget, it animates to the editable view but I can't enter text. The keyboard is visible but text entry doesn't appear
2. If I tap to reposition the carat or edit the text, it animates to the done view
3. When I tap to edit again, the previous text entered now appears
4. If I now press done, it animates to the done view but reverts to the original text
5. I can't delete text, possibly related to 1.
