Tool doesn't respond to USB Midi

Open jrgitsf opened this issue 8 years ago • 6 comments

Tool does not respond to USB midi. It does work if I mouse a key on the tool.

I can confirm that my USB 1 Global Channel is sending messages on my Nord Stage 2-- I can see a Midi receive light in Ableton Live (as well as I can control the Nord from Live).

However, your tool does not respond when I press any keys on the Nord. I've done this in Chrome and Firefox as well as refreshed after the window is open.

Would love to know if it is user error (me) or something that you can fix on your end. Happy to help troubleshoot.

I'm really looking forward to using the tool and will contribute to Patreon.

Never mind. I restarted the whole system and it worked. Starting with just the PC. Case closed.

Hmm, glad it's working for you now, but feel free to reopen this if you see that issue come up again. A few people have reported some odd behavior along those lines. There may still be something going on.

Future request. To be able to mute the left or right hand. (I put the tempo of both to the same to practice one hand. Two hands is a whole other level. I didn't realize how far I am out of beat with the left. Complete muscle thing. Right hand worked pretty well. Great practice tool.) Well done.

I spoke too soon. It would not respond to my usb midi input again since restarting from last night. Nothing has changed- hardware or software. I restarted the computer. It would respond to midi usb in Ableton so midi is being transmitted via USB.

Is there anything else that goes wrong, or does everything work except for the midi input? Like can you trigger notes with your computer keyboard or by clicking?

I can trigger notes via computer keyboard or by mouse. Everything else works fine.
