Count update not working with jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.5

The count of currently selected items didn't update in combination with jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8.5 (Tested on Firefox 3.6.12 and Chrome 7.0 under Windows 7).
