This extension seems to be abandoned. Maybe it could be picked up by MS @isidorn? It's really an essential git related feature.
We (the vs code team) are a small team that is focused on the core experience and designing beautiful APIs so extension authors can be successful. While I agree this extension is good, we do not have the capacity to own it. I think a better route is if somebody from the community wants to take it over, or to create another extension which covers this functionality. Thanks
Please note that this project's license strictly disallows to publish a fork on the marketplace. So there's only three options:
- Keep things as before and wait for the maintainer to merge PRs etc.
- He explicitly passes over the repo to someone else
- Build an alternative tool. (Shameless plug: here's mine)
