Option to download only favorite photos from Google Photos

Photos in Google Photos are too many to download all of them. It would be great to provide an option to download only the favorite photos.

It doesn't look to me as if there's any way to discern or distinguish the Favorites from normal photos.

I get a strange error that needs further work from Google Photos API. But it seems like the author is not too keen on adding this feature. There is another project somebody interested might want to look into: https://github.com/perkeep/gphotos-cdp

The feature is great, I'm just not keen on the implementation. It needs to be reworked (details in the PR).
