invitations go directly to calender

I am using Thunderbird with davmail 5.2.0-2961 to connect to the corporate Exchange server.

On Friday I got some invitations that went straight into the calendar without Thunderbird offering any buttons (accept/decline). Colleagues who got the same mail in Outlook could accept or decline.

I now installed Outlook to have a look at the appointments in the calendar and THERE I can accept or decline the appointment directly from the calendar. Which is not possible/not offered in Thunderbird for the same appointment.

I am unsure who to blame for that? Thunderbird/Lightning? DavMail? Exchange? How can I debug this?
