can't dismiss reminders for recurring events
Hi there
I recently installed Davmail (5.5.1-trunk-1 deb package, from appveyor) and linked it to a fresh Thunderbird profile. The email set-up was simple and straightforward, as was the CalDAV setup with Thunderbird/Lightning.
However I have one unresolvable issue which is that I receive 3 reminders for recent recurring events which attended. It doesn't matter how many times I atttempt to "dismiss" these reminders, they keep returning. Furthermore, the "3 Reminders" is always there, and can't be closed without immediately re-opening.
Please could you suggest (1) how to circumvent this reminder and successfully dismiss the reminders in question (all of which, as I mentioned, relate to recurring events), and (2) how to avoid this issue from arising again... is there some misconfiguration that I may have made, perhaps?

We have a lot of issues with recurring events, working in it.
Can you please try to set davmail.caldavRealUpdate=true in davmail.properties first and try again ? (new event update implementation, this will be the default value in next DavMail release)
hi -- thanks for that suggestion. it seems that it helped to get rid of one notification, but I still have two that won't go away. can you tell me how reminder status is stored, and whether it can be manually re-set eg using a command-line tool, perhaps? or if there is something I can tweak via the Outlook web interface, directly?
I also have a recurring group meeting on an O365 calendar which I was unable to dismiss the reminder for. It had come as an invite from another person and the reminder was not popping up in the O365 web interface either (which is how I had dismissed pesky reminders in the past)
I tried adding davmail.caldavRealUpdate=true in my davmail.properties and restarting davmail though that didn't seem to make a difference at first.
I eventually tried restarting both davmail and Thunderbird/Lightning andand my calendar though it does not seem to have made things work, at least so far.
I'm also having this issue, using Version: 5.5.1-4 on arch linux in thunderbird & lightning to synchronize an exchange calendar.
Hitting dismiss just leads to the popup appearing again instantly.
What's more severe is that it also seems to send some notification to the creator of the event, effectively spamming them, each time I hit dismiss/dismiss-all.

Diffing the received and sent data, it looks like it mostly changes timezones and modification dates.
Not sure if this is exactly the same issue and if it's davmail's or thunderbird/lightnings issue.
i have same problem too. set option davmail.caldavRealUpdate=true do not solved problem.

This is my issue as well, and since I spam the participants of the event as a result, I can't use the calendar integration for the time being.
