The icon-only buttons interface makes it difficult to establish a streamlined flow
Since the nature of the program means I rarely need to interact with the GUI, I never truly get the chance to learn it, let alone develop muscle memory for it. I consistently struggle to recall the function of each button when I open LBM every other month I rearrange my monitors. One workaround (that slows down the flow anyways) is hovering over the icons to reveal labels, but then you start to see additional problems:
-
a button labeled "about" and followed by another labeled "info", when in many contexts these terms mean the same.
-
the "switch to list view" option works as a toggle, even though it visually resembles a standard button.
I know the easy reply might be, "How often do you need to interact with the interface for this to be a problem?" But that infrequency is precisely what's causing the issue; there’s hardly any retention of the proper flow between sessions. It's just a quality of life suggestion, please don't take it badly.
I don't take it Badly, that's thing are hard to anticipate for me, so keep criticizing it's useful, and even more when it's constructive.
