Infinity (GBC, unfinished RPG) has lots of graphical glitches
I see @endrift already had commented on the Reddit thread, but I went ahead and tried the game out in mGBA anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:
ROM: http://affinix.com/downloads.html Problems:
- [x] While the title screen menu is opening and is open (not before), a discolored (green) line with some black and white dots appears at the top of the seascape background.
- [x] Title screen seascape flashes as the file select menu is moving in (see above gif)
- [x] Flashing glitch in dialogue box (occurs practically all the time)
- [x] Dialogue box color flashes
- [x] Whole or most of screen glitches out with a weird pattern sometimes (happens on some dialogue screens)
- [x] "Save file" screen (in the inn) and bottom of battle screens is totally white except for cursor
- [x] "Map transition" flashes old content in places that should be black occasionally (menus seem to appear in there pretty regularly, as in this gif)
- [ ] World map has a glitching vertical line (zoom in on world map in above gif)
- [x] Transition into the cave has another odd, discolored line, similar to one on title screen
Added title screen glitches to the list.
I was wondering why those weren't there :P
Two of these are fixed with 2347bc4.
Whiteness issues fixed in 488bc56d3c76debc4cb3cd5ab9f3e54f389450bf.
Apart from the green scanline issue, the remaining issues are probably all the same bug.
Flashing issues fixed in 3593aa7.
Added another worldmap glitch to the list (same gif), and another scanline glitch (probably the same bug).
Horizontal scanline fixed in e30e3734da29c84dd4047fbfaa2e699b8d7968b8 (probably fixes the other one, haven't checked)
E] Yep, fixes that one too.
Make sure to add the throne room conversation having random parts of the screen glitch out on occasion.
Oh, does it glitch out in a different way than the other dialogue glitches? I didn't notice. Will do.
The world map glitch is indeed still present. I noticed on SameBoy that the right side of the screen does jitter if you move around, but when standing still, the vertical-line jitter is not present at all (even with all "interframe blending," etc. disabled.)
Interestingly, the glitching vertical line in the world map isn't present in the new 2024 demo.
