Faint crackling sound in Oracle of Ages.

Exactly what the title says. In the first town there's a constant faint crackling sound. It's more noticeable in the item menu. Audio in the game seems to just be completely wrong overall but that crackling sound is intolerable.

I can't reproduce this. What are your sync settings?

Using the latest development version I can still hear it. It's like a faint crackling sound underneath the music.

Your audio buffer is ridiculously large. Try decreasing it.

Anything below 2048 is broken earrape screeching. 2048, 3072 and 4096 all sound fine except the crackling underneath the music is present.

I can reproduce in latest build as of writing (5994-84000ed). It's pretty faint, but it's there.

It's most pronounced in audio channel 2, but present in lesser degrees in audio channel 1 and possibly 3. I can make a video and/or provide further information to aid in tracing it down.

Glad it's not just me having the problem. I hope this gets fixed soon so I can play the game in peace.

Any update on this?

Fwiw i was playing this game recently on original hardware and the crackling is normal when you have the item menu or map opened. Otherwise there is usually no crackling.

It's subtle, but I can hear it in mGBA, but not on hardware. Can you provide recordings?
