Emojis have vanished after latest Thunderbird update
Application and version where the issue occurs (e.g. Thunderbird 52.0, Outlook Desktop 2016, Outlook Web)
Thunderbird 78.7.0
Expected behavior
Emoji panel button shows in header for email
Actual behavior
No button
Steps to reproduce the behavior
From https://github.com/mganss/EmojiAddIn#thunderbird:
Once you have installed the add-on and restarted Thunderbird, the add-on will be available from the View menu when you write a message. The toolbar button won't be visible by default, but you can add it to the toolbar by customizing the toolbar.
Thanks for the solution! Itg would be helpful to include that in the add-on description within Thunderbird. Just my 2¢.
Lost it again in the latest Thunderbird 91 update. And this time there's no View menu when composing an email. Also, the link above to customize the toolbar no longer works. I hope you can help again.
Does the add-on show on the add-ons management page? If so, which version of the add-on is installed?
Hi, Michael,
I'm running version 1.78.7. Hope that helps, Bill

1.78 is not compatible with Thunderbird 91. You need to update to the latest version. Preferably enable automatic updates on the Add-on management page.
Gee, I have automatic updates set to ON. Is Default better? I'll go and update it manually now.
Cheers! Bill

Strange. Default is no better but could be worse if the general setting for add-on updates is off (in the cog menu at the top right). Does it work now after updating the add-on?
Same problem here, I've reported the issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1735303 It works perfectly after manually searching for addons updates.
