How to install this extension on Ubuntu 22.04?

Either installing using web browser or source code do not work. On "https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/3010/system-monitor-next/", it shows a note "Your native host connector do not support following APIs: v6. Probably you should upgrade native host connector or install plugins for missing APIs. Refer documentation for instructions.", which is confusing.

You may need to install the GNOME Shell integration browser plugin, or maybe already had but it's gotten itself misconfigured. I would recommend installing extension-manager & using that to browser for & install GNOME Shell extensions instead: sudo apt install -y extension-manager

On Ubuntu this is:

sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-manager

Thanks @mwenge, you're right, extension-manager is the application name only once it's installed, where the package name to install it is indeed, on Ubuntu at least, actually called gnome-shell-extension-manager.

@mwenge how did you find it? It does not show up in search results at all.

oops... you have to sort by Recent for this extension to show up.
