Doesn't connect to a real IBM mainframe with OpenConnect VPN

I'm running on a Ubuntu 19.10 system.

I've got an OpenConnect VPN that gets me a tunnel to an IBM z14 running z/OS 2.3 with the TN3270 server running on port 23. Tunelled address/port is 192.168.xxx.xxx:23. When the OpenConnect VPN is running my Ubuntu system can only access the remote LAN, there's no access to the internet.

If I run plain old x3270 it works OK and I get the USS screen sent by z/OS VTAM.

el-3270 doesn't connect to that remote system. It sits there whirling the "wait" icon in the operator area.

The Javascript console doesn't give me anything useful.

I'm also using VPN (cisco anyconnect) on Windows 10, and an alarm icon keeps showing, nothing else happens. Not sure if there's something to do with VPN at all (didn't even had a chance to type any address/port)

I also experience similar problems. I have READY TO CONNECT TO ... on screen and "wait" at the button. But nothing is happening.

I did some research. My Issue is related to tn3270 package don't support TN3270E
