HMR behavior after upgrade to 0.12.2

After upgrading Meteor to 1.6, the vue-component package upgraded to 0.12.2..

not sure if it's a bug, or something wrong with my setup but this is what I get in the browser: screen shot 2017-11-01 at 4 07 14 pm

this goes infinitely. For now I downgraded back to 0.10.8.. I'd appreciate any feedback as to why this might be happening.
