Any ideas to contribute, should there be a redesign in future?

Maybe you can look at this app :

https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/chargev/id1151812209?mt=8

I think this is a good example for a good layout and placement for settings

@F3000 Could you please elaborate on what were you trying to achieve when you faced difficulties at the beginning?

Thank you for your comment.

Apart from your preferences about about the interface which is legit. What were you trying to achieve when you faced the difficulties? What concrete task you could not complete or it was hard to complete? A fictitious example of kind expected answer is: My mother gave me 20 bucks for my birthday. I wanted to buy a toy and measure how much time and distance it took me to go to visit all toy stores. So I downloaded OpenGPXTracker. The first time I used it I did not know what did the start button, I thought it was for start taking pictures but when I pressed it did not display the camera. That was confusing. ...

Main issue we have with the current design is that it is far too easy to reset the track by accident.

Does the reset button have to be always visible and right next to the save button? Or could it be evicted to an Action Sheet?

Or add a confirmation before such destructive operation.
