Trouble installing anvi'o 8 on Apple M1 Pro

Unable to get all of the steps to work properly when installing Anvi'o

anvi-self-test --version

macOS M1 Pro; installed anvi'o using the stable version instructions

Detailed description of the issue

When running anvi-self-test or anvi-interactive, I get this error:

Config Error: There is something wrong :( There is not even a single SCG source found. Usually anvi'o comes with multiple of them :/

There were no error when installing Anvi'o itself or all the dependencies, so I'm not sure why it's giving this error. Any help would be appreciated!
