So, this issue seems to only be reproducible on irc.abjects.net, try a busy channel, like #moviegods, I guess it has something to do with the oddball IRCd that network runs.

This may be caused by channel capitalization differing.

@tyscorp Could it be that you join the channel and the case is one thing, but the server sends a message with a different channel capitalization?
