significant increase in battery usage

Open mynameisflorian opened this issue 6 months ago • 1 comments

It seems as if gpslogger's battery usage has significantly increased after my phone updated to android 16. I remember my usage was previously less than 5%(i think it was usually around 3-4%) and has now jumped to 12% -- that's a 3-4x increase! I haven't changed any settings, and as far as i can tell, the only change has been the os-upgrade.

I am using a pixel 7 pro.

I have now turned on the "significant movement" setting to see if that brings usage down to a reasonable level again.

F-droid tells me I'm using v134.

Please let me know if you need any additional details!

In the occasional cases where there's been a report of very high usage, resetting or uninstalling/reinstalling the whole app has usually solved the problem. It doesn't answer the why, or get to a root cause, but troubleshooting has been tough as recorded debug logs haven't revealed anything useful to zero-in on. So for now that's what I'd suggest. Reset (backup your data). Try again. If the battery issue persists, you could try a debug log.
