Problem with CSV format

Open llalles opened this issue 6 months ago • 2 comments

Hello everyone, I'm just starting to use the gpslogger app and I love it, but when I want to view the saved .csv files, the latitude and longitude fields in some records show "e.g. lat 39.46166 lon -0.36848" and in another record it shows "lat 3.946.166.166.666.660 lon -3.684.833.333.333.330" What could I be doing wrong?

I think I have an idea, if I open the csv with notepad, the coordinates are correct. I don't know why when importing them with a spreadsheet some come out wrong but not all

I'm not very familiar with spreadsheets, but it looks like they might be misinterpreting the lat/long values for some reason. Could you try something like clicking the column and choosing a format for those columns, like telling it it's just text or number? Try playing with the format type.

Thank you very much for answering. The coordinates are incorrect when opening the CSV with LibreOffice, but they are correct if I import the CSV into QGIS, which is what I really need. So, no problem, everything is fine. Thank you, and it's a great program.
