Persistent history across runs

i.e. create a ~/.<progname>_history that is used to bootstrap the history on startup. And commands are automatically logged to this history file

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll have a look at this. I even think rustyline, the crate that I use for input, already can load its history from file.
