No OS Edition selection option
Hi I'm using the latest revision of the autounattend doc (Dec 12 2024) and, despite my original os being Windows 11 Pro, I'm given neither the option to select the edition nor does the install auto select the correct edition. It installs Home instead of Pro.
Also, not sure if these are related but I noticed the answer file seems to manipulate the OS selection via a ei.cfg file, but from the official Microsoft documentation:
" Note An answer file takes precedence over these files. If you use an answer file during installation, Windows Setup ignores the EI.cfg and PID.txt files."
Edit:
- I tried replacing the
0000-000... line with the generic Windows Pro key, that resulted in a Windows Home installation still - I used the "Change Product Key" option and input the generic Windows Pro key and that was activated successfully after I went online
Still, it would be nice to actually have the OS selection menu
Hi, I noticed in the commands for making X:Sources\ei.cfg file there are > and >> these should be ">" and ">>" Direct after > there must be a semicolumn (;), but if i typed that you wouldn't see the difference.
Here is a solution to the problem regarding showing the Windows version menu for both 10 and 11. there is no need to use the ei.cfg file

Hey there and sorry for the late reply.
@kendikaku Thanks for providing that solution, I will test it and if it works in my testing, I will make the changes.
