it's all looking correct, but I think there are some circumstances under which melonDSi fails to boot. I'll have to look into this, will probably get back to you later. melonDSi is in alpha stage pretty much.

you need the same DSi BIOS dumps as those NO$GBA requires

  • BIOS dumps don't work out of the box as of the merge to master, personally I found working copies online because I could not find how to "augment" mine. BIOS is allegedly the same for across all regions.
  • NAND needs the "NO$GBA footer", dumpTool will append that correctly, older fwTool versions don't.
  • NAND and firmware regions probably have to match.

could we perhaps have the option to use initmem7.bin and initmem9.bin instead of augmented dumps back? at least until we have a proper dumper for these augmented dumps.

Super old issue but I wanted to add to this conversation a bit. If you dump the DSi BIOS, you need unlaunch installed on the DSi and boot the dumper from there to get a good BIOS dump.

I also received this error when I tried to dump my BIOS by just using Memory Pit to boot Twilight Menu, and launching the BIOS dumper tool from there.

I dumped my NAND prior to installing unlaunch so I had that clean backup, and then installed unlaunch afterwards to get the BIOS files properly dumped.
