Installed but not showing up in blocks

Open docpop opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

I installed the block today and can see that it is activated ion my site, but I can't find it when searching through my block options in a post. I tried searching "geocities" in my available blocks, but nothing showed up. It's really possible this is a user error, but I was hoping y'all could help me get this running so I can try it out. I'm on WP 5.0.3

Oh, just a follow up note, shortly after installing this block, I started getting white screens when attempting to create a new post. I reverted to an older backup and tried again, but got the same result. It wasn't immediately after activating the block, but it definitely seems to be triggering it in someway.

@docpop after cloning the repo, did you happen to build the scripts? They aren't pre-built. You'll want to use the command line, cd into the directory of the plugin, and run these two commands.

npm install
npm run build

That generates the script files. It's also worth mentioning that this project is extremely early in its development and the master branch currently only has an example block in it.

I didn't build that script. This sounds like it might be out of my league for now, but I hope to see it evolve more in the future. I'd love to try it out sometime. Also, I found out about this block after I shared this silly comic on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Wordpress/comments/abypqs/a_few_niche_ideas_for_guten
