MEGAsync is not working properly with Gnome 3.26
Gnome 3.26 does not provide the icon tray anymore. Since then, it is not possible to minimize MEGAsync and have the app run in background.
You can use "Esc" key. That will close the main interface. MEGAsync will keep working in the background. Executing megasync again will open the interface again. In any case, you'd rather install TopIcons Plus extension https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1031/topicons/ to supply the abscense in Gnome 3.26
Thanks for the information - didn't know about the ESC key. It works just fine..
I have the extension mentioned install and it works for other apps but not for megasync. Any idea what may be going on here?
No idea @heis2201, what's your OS? Did you restart (exit+start) megasync after installing Topicons Plus?
My OS is Fedora 27 (w/ Gnome 3.26, kernel 4.15.10-300.fc27.x86_64).
Yes, I have restarted many times since I installed Topiconplus (also tried just to restart Gnome Shell).

What's the way forward to integrate megasync in Gnome?
If I may, as stated in this blogpost related to status icons, GNOME has removed the tray bar, but also offered an alternative API for cloud providers, called libcloudproviders, which should take care of the integration with Nautilus. The link to the library in that particular blogpost is broken, but here you can find the documentation for it. Here you can find the result NextCloud was able to obtain.
I do not know if this option has already been considered and if the development of that API went forward, but I think it is worth checking out.
Thanks, I'll give it a try.
Seems to work fine. Thanks a lot!
