Sync read only shared folder
Issue
Unable to sync a read only shared folder. When asking for sync read only folder, it fails, requiring full access.
Step to reproduce
- Install and configure MEGASync 3.5.3 on Linux Mint 18
- Get a read only access to another MEGA user's folder
- Open MEGASync → Settings → Sync → Add → Mega Folder
- Select the read only shared folder → OK
Expected behavior
After pressing Ok, the folder is synchronized. Folder and files should be read only mode.
I'm having the same "issue": I guess this is just how it was designed, but seems a bit dull to not being able to sync a read only shared folder, just like most other cloud servives can do
MEGASync 3.6.0 Windows 10 64bit
Still the case with MEGASync v3.6.5, up 😊
Please allow syncing folders shared by other people to local.
Consider this use case: I'm an open source developer that wan't to let people test my changes fast. I sync my build output folder to mega and people could set it to sync that folder (for which they don't have write access) to their local machine so that they only download the actual files that have been changed from the build, instead of the whole thing.
still facing the same problem.
I also have this requirement. It is also a sync, although only a one-way-sync that is required...
How is this still an issue after 6 years? For such a basic sync feature? Read-only and other forms of one-way sync are such important features, I can't imagine why they'd purposefully exclude them this long... I like Mega because of it's privacy but I'm really close to just switching to a different service entirely, this is ridiculous
I want to be able to sync my immich data folder to use mega as a backup. should have been added by now.
