Slow Upload Speed
My internet speed is 9 MB/s+ but on MEGASync i get only 400 Kb/s, on Chrome my speed is 1~1.5 MB/s. Prints:

Use checkbox "Don't use HTTP" in "Bandwitch" settings tab. In my case speed increased from 400 Kbps to 90 Mbps
Thank you, I'll try.
checking dont use http works ... however, mega.nz should make it clear to their users ( i waited 3 hours before finding out about this) thanks
Have to say as of 13/09/2018 this still works. Shame on you MEGA
Where is the option (Don't use HTTP in Bandwitch). I don't find it on mega.nz dashboard
@jim285 You need to use the Application.
same issue here, i don't know why the uploading speed is too slow
Also the same issue. 200 Mb/s connection and just 600 Kb/s upload
In my case, don't use HTTP was checked, and I had to uncheck it to get full speeds.
Same issue, checking, checking/unchecking, removing upload limits, no difference, still uploading at 200KB/s

try to download an old megasync version
Is this the norm for Mega? I'm just trying it out today but it's been stuck on the first few files for about 45 minutes.

Uncheck "Don't use HTTP". It did the trick for me too

Others recommenced the opposite. I've tried both to no avail.
I gave up in the end and switched to pCloud - so much happier. I recommend it.
I'm getting 50-100 KB/s upload seed on MEGASync even with a pro account. Disabling HTTP or not. Nothing works. Its the same speed even though uploading on the browser gets me around 300-350 KB/s which is somewhat good. MEGA is horrible. I will move to gsuite.
shame stupid meag.. Here too. low low speed upload. Now I try to move another service. Stay away from mega. How to upload with 100kbs. I am paid user. They cannot solve any problems ever. Very stupid service and they cheat to customers.
I tried sticking it out and seeking assistance from support. Speeds were so weak that uploads kept quing up and support were ignoring me. I eventually had to give up. It's a bullshit service. It doesn't work.
I recommend giving them a well deserved 1 star Trust Pilot review.
Sorry your experience has been poor. Most users find the product works well. Maybe your use is a different profile; e.g. lots of small files???We could bypass the usual support team and get a developer to look at your logs if you are agreeable.
It's unlikely that there is something wrong with MEGAsync. It's more likely that have a peering issue with the node our API is designating your upload traffic to. Could you please send us your ISP and account details to [email protected] so we can investigate? Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience!
Lol Mega.. How many stuff do you guys want? Do u need our computers also? Non stop u guys request.. After we give our account detail and Isp, What u guys want to ask more?. Non stop ask. but still now cannot solve. So how? Sync problem bro. Mega should test for various pc and Isp first. Why I pay for that shit premium account, I have no idea. Try to fix some bugs from above posts. From last year. Solve old bug first. Mega damn make me sick. Money is fine. We need to save time. So we buy premium account dude. I moved from mega premium. No worth for pay money. Stupid shit upload sync. damn app ever. Free only ok. or use browser upload function. U guys should explain to premium customers first for how about your sync service's upload speed is. I left premium. Wasted time.
Sending a bug ticket won't help in any way. This is my bandwidth:
I barely reach 70Mbps when uploading a file. And no, this issue is not on my end.
You might want to fix that Mega please.
The web client help [https://mega.nz/help/client/webclient/cloud-drive/what-is-the-upload-speed-limiting-feature-good-for-576ca7bc886688e7028b459a] describes the Auto upload speed as
Many routers deprioritize smaller packets in case of network congestion, resulting in your inbound traffic being severely affected when your network outbound bandwidth runs full. We therefore offer an automatic speed management option, where we measure your available outbound bandwidth during the initial ten seconds of an upload, and then keep at least 10% of it unused.
If this is strictly true, and if it also applies to the desktop app (of which I’m using the Linux version), this may explain some upload speed problems—and it may be a problem. In fact, I was experiencing very annoying, extremely slow uploads, and changing to a fixed upload rate limit made it much better.
I haven’t looked at the source code, so I am simply speculating here. Suppose that it throttles the bandwidth of a file—or at any rate does some extra stuff with it for the first ten seconds of an upload, and then continues at a good clip. I happened to be uploading a substantial number of rather small files. If each upload indeed has a slow startup period, then it would explain the behaviour and the upload speed curve I saw: each upload started very slow, moved up to a decent speed, then fell off as it completed. The reason this seems like it may be what happened in my case is, as mentioned, setting a static limit preserved a more consistent, and higher, average rate.
Of course, it could also (perhaps simultaneously) be something else related to small files—for example, I don’t know if the MEGA client encrypts in advance or whether, when one file finishes uploading, it only then starts to encrypt the next. If it waits to encrypt until a file is ready for upload, it would be waiting unnecessarily, and it would probably be better to at cache at least a certain amount of data while waiting for a free upload slot.
Thanks @haggholm , disabling the automatic upload limitation, worked for me in MegaSync
How to:
Disclaimer: Text of buttons and options may not be the same, as I don't have an english version
- Right click on mega icon
- Options
- Bandwidth tab
- In Upload speed limit, select "Don't limit", by default the "Automatically limit speed" option is selected
- Save, enjoy
Best regards! 🍷
From what I'm seeing, the bandwidth manager is part of the issue, but also it appears that the flag set for http/https traffic isn't updated unless changed - ie. if the default setting is unchecked, for that to actually take effect, you have to check it, save, then un-check it. Based on the performance I'm getting (still woefully under performing), that had a positive impact.
I'm currently running Gigabit on fiber, and can only get upload rates of maybe 5MB/sec. (what I'd typically get with a 40-50Mb connection). There is definitely something out of wack.
Hi relder251, I've just checked that initial setting for http/https is respected - you can check yourself by enabling the debug log (click 5 times on the shield icon in your settings dialog, the log appears in your desktop) and upload a file, then check in the log for lines with userstorage.mega.co.nz/ul and see if it is connecting with http or https. Use the same procedure to disable the log again. Btw, when you see slow speeds, is your CPU maxed out (maybe just on one thread)? thanks
The CPU is not maxed. I have no additional tasks running, and I'm working with a 24-core AND Threadripper, 64GB RAM, and 2 1Gb adapters and a 10Gb adapter (integrated Nic's). I have little to no additional traffic on my 1Gb fiber connection.
Thanks, Robert

I just unchecked it.
I was getting 100/kb before
Now I get 1MB+

What about mega cli in ubuntu?
