Additional Context
I ensured that gcc is up-to-date and no files are missing from already-installed packages (SteamOS likes to ship with many of these files removed for some reason)
Hi, We have just updated the repo with a new version megasync-5.11.1-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst. Could you test it? Regards.

I've had the same, or at least a very similar issue for the last couple of weeks after updating my system, making MEGAsync unusable. This version (installed through megasync-bin package in the AUR) doesn't crash anymore for me, but the transfers just freeze after a short while. Exiting doesn't work properly, a background process remains active, which I have to terminate so I can start MEGAsync again for the downloads to resume, until the transfers freeze again shortly after. Not sure if there is actual transfer progress being made, even. Interestingly, I remember the transfers running for a long time after I first started the new version. But now they always freeze within about a minute.
Actually, it does still crash if I close it from the open GUI instead of the tray icon context menu:

Sorry for the late response. Finally got around to trying this out (since steamOS updated and wiped a lot of my installed packages, and the AUR version of libpdfium-nojs (required for the AUR version of megasync) kept failing to build), and the 5.11.1-3 package from mega.nz/linux/repo/Arch_Extra/x86_64/ installed and ran perfectly.
Thanks @InSimpleTermsJordan for your feedback. @damster101 Could you check the latest version, v5.12.0? Thanks in advance!

Same issue with v5.12.0. I start MEGAsync, it appears to start transferring, but everything freezes after some short amount of time, and when I fully exit from the tray, MEGAsync process is still open, and I have to kill it to open MEGAsync again.

v5.14 works just fine on a different Arch machine. Will see in a week whether simply updating to v5.14 solves it on my main machine. Otherwise, removing the user config after updating should solve it. Unless it's some very strange issue.

Well, it only worked fine for a while, and actually downloaded a fair bit, but now it's broken again, the same way. Doesn't download anything anymore, just appears to do something for a short while.
On my main machine again. As an experiment, I downgraded to an old version I know that worked, but it showed the same issue. Then I upgraded to the latest v5.15 version, also the same. So I deleted the '~/.local/share/data/Mega Limited' directory, set MEGAsync up again, which now has been syncing happily for over an hour. Let's see how long that lasts, because v5.14 also developed the issue only after hours of runtime on that other machine, after being updated from a working months-old version...
Sounds like something in the local MEGAsync data got corrupted somewhere along the line, otherwise it'd be weird if deleting the folder hadn't fixed it.
