Hi,

Is it possible to apply the patch for Asterisk 12?

Thanks.

I haven't tried yet, but it shouldn't be too hard to port it. AFAIK, VP8 part of this patch is already in there, so you only need to bother with OPUS.

The VP8 support you see in Asterisk 12 comes from this patch. Opus is supported as well, but passthrough only, as at the time the Asterisk developers were still concerned by potential licensing issues with the codec, and so I modified the patch to disable transcoding. As xhook says, adapting the complete patch to Asterisk 12 shouldn't be too hard. We'll try and prepare one ASAP.

That's great. I am looking forward to the patch with Opus transcoding for Asterisk 12.

Thank you.

Any news on this? It would be really nice to have! :-)

Hi,

no, we haven't worked on that yet. There are users who forked the project who updated it for other Asterisk versions, though, including Asterisk 12. Have a look at the modifications made here:

I fixed the patch for Asterisk 11.25.0 (tested on Asterisk 11.18.0 and above). Here's the revised patch:

I have a patch ready for 11.21.0 that also integrates a small addition (setting the complexity of the encoder) but I was waiting for a bit more testing before pushing it on the repo here. I'll try and do that in the next few days.
