Runcam 5 videos fail

Open NickBozos opened this issue 4 years ago • 16 comments

Hello there and merry Christmas to all! I just gave a try to this program on my windows laptop and the only video it converted was a MOV file 4:3 from my goggles DVR. I have both Runcam 5 and Runcam 5 orange and i tried with 4:3 1440p MP4 files from both cameras and regardless the size of the video i try to format and also by choosing every kind of upscale or no upscale , in every try i did it goes very fast at "Step 4/4: Encoding failed" message. tried with files of 56MB to 1650MB and nothing changes. Would appreciate any help.

Same for me with GoPro 5 files (4:3 2.7k and W10 OS) => Encoding failed. Tell me if you need a file to test.

I just tried to process your sample and it encoded just fine on my pc with the latest version. Are you using 1.0.8?

I think I found a bug within Runcam 5 Orange converting video and its resolution. I use 4k30fps XV for recording. After that I convert it to 4:3 aspect ratio which becomes 2880x2160 for stabilazing in gyroflow. It seems that later SuperViou dont like this resolution and I get that same error.

Is it possible to update accepted resolution like the above, 2880x2160?

I am having the exact same problem. I'm running MacOS Big Sur, using a Runcam 5 Orange, and filming in 1440p. It gets to step 2, and then errors. After that it just errors the second I start it, with any file, and doesn't even make it to step 2. I also tried with 1.0.7, and it has the same problem.

Yeah, SUperviou ist not working for me. I re-encoded my Runcam Videos now into a bunch of different formats and codecs, but it always fails to compile :/

+1 🐞 : Unfortunately it is not working for me either.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
macOS Monterery 12.2.1
Runcam orange on 1440p

But I have some good news!!!! I found other project that is working on my mac. ps: You just need open the gui from the terminal ;)

Until SuperViou fix this 🐞 you all could take a look at superview. It is saving me!

@meekaah Did you try with the .exe from the release with default settings ? I'm using the latest version and I have the same issue. If it is working on your side I guess it sould be feasible on ours

Hi, same problem, I use Runcam 5 orange, 4k format, it stops at step 4 with the words: "Encoding Failed.". Anyone know how to solve it?
