Unable to access in /data/data/ru.meefik.busybox/files/bin

The README.md says at the bottom that it is possible to use the tools without rooting the device by using them directly from /data/data/ru.meefik.busybox/files/bin. On my Android 7 device this does not work. Trying to list that directory or execute the busybox binary in there gives "permission denied". This is with 1.30.1. I tried both the APK from here and from F-Droid.
