It would be a good idea to bump the patch level every month and create a release.

Yep, no issue with this. Alternatively, given it's basically 1:1 coupled, we could just track the yt-dlp release versions, maybe with an additional subversion?

I'm not very interested in tracking any one dependency.

What I want from this idea is an easy way to narrow down issues. Having a user try the tag for last month can help if that works and the current version doesn't.
