Core dump seconds after connecting controller

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the problem, but I moved to a new system, compiled / installed xow as usual and even rebooted the system. Every time I connected the xbox controller it would connect for 2-3 seconds and then disconnect again. I saw via journalctl that xow crashed, see below. Afterwards I compiled twice with lower optimizations make BUILD=DEBUG and RELEASE_FLAGS=-O2 make BUILD=RELEASE and both versions worked fine. After this step even the normal -O3 seems to work without issues... crash.log
