[feature request/ offer for help] add possibility to save videos on headless server

Thanks for your work. When I downloaded the docker container I misunderstood what it does. I thought this has the same functionality like the desktop version of mediathekview (including storing files on local computers and removing them again). Is there already a project or fork that does this or do you need help to make this possible? And, most important, is this legal?

I don't know about any specific project that does this, but there are multiple yt-dlp UIs that you can install on your server. yt-dlp works really well if you feed it the website URL that you get when you (right) click in the “Sender” column.

Well, I wanted to start the browser on my mobile phone and wanted to start the download, but it should be downloaded on my server, not on my phone.

I agree that feature would be very nice to have.

What works for me as a workaround is to copy the download url from mediathekview and paste it into my metube instance (home assistant addon in the repo)

(makes sense to set the Custom Name Prefix manually to the title :))
