non-spidered topic includes stories not matching seed query

Emily created a topic that queries against 4 media sources:

Immigration_stories_for_FB_counts__Define_American____Topic_Mapper___Media_Cloud

However, after she ran it she sees it includes a few hundred stories from a media source that wasn't included in the seed query (Newsweek): Immigration_stories_for_FB_counts__Define_American____Topic_Mapper___Media_Cloud

Why are these stories showing up?

Hal suggests that the notion of an un-spidered topic is sketchy; perhaps it did some. I think the key is that we need to make unspidered topics work better.
