Cannot move the Min-Vid player window in Arch-Linux
Is there a way to move the Player from the botomleft corner? In screenshots i saw theres supposed to be a directional-arrows-icon but thats somehow missing ... Also a way to move the player into its own window would be cool ...
Firefox: 50.1.0 on Arch-Linux
Hello @TechnicianLP thank you for reporting this. The screenshots issue is related to #508 . The drag handle was removed in https://github.com/meandavejustice/min-vid/pull/475 and player panned has become a draggable window.
The window can be dragged by hovering the mouse cursor on the area between the volume slider and "Send to tab" button and after that press and hold the mouse left click button. This is available from the dev build (built from GitHub). The Min Vid version from Test Pilot still has the drag button. In case this doesn't work, #375 has more info related to Arch-Linux, or you can try with holding Alt+Right Mouse click inside the Min-Vid player window.
I got the one from the Testpilot and dont have the drag-button ... It seems i cant move it by dragging: either the video continues/pauses or nothing happens at all ... Thanks for helping me though ;)
I'm also not seeing any drag functionality from the TestPilot version
Regarding Linux, you can read more about the issue here #371 . From what I can see on Ubuntu 14.04 there is an issue with dragging and resizing for the Min-Vid version from Test Pilot. With the latest Min-Vid dev build, I didn't see those issues.
Here is the latest Min-Vid dev build. If you can, please try it on latest Nightly and latest Firefox release versions and please report back the results.
- Install in Nightly: start Nightly -> go to "about:config" page -> set "xpinstall.signatures.required" and "xpinstall.whitelist.required" to false -> go to "about:addons" -> Extensions -> click on the gear wheel button and select "Install Add-on From File"
- Install in Firefox: start Firefox release -> go to "about:debugging" page -> and click "Load Temporary Add-on" to install Min-Vid. In this case the add-on will be installed until next browser restart.
@TechnicianLP @mckennajones What window managers are you each using?
@meandavejustice I am using Gnome
@mckennajones I'll try and install gnome sometime soon when I get the time. Thank you
@mckennajones wanna give this a shot? https://github.com/meandavejustice/min-vid/issues/192#issuecomment-252450283
I am using Gnome on Arch Linux, and am able to move the window without issue.
I was having similar issues to this (win 10) with youtube videos. the player was 1/2 hidden at top left of screen and no way i could move it . I installed link suggested by @Softvision-VladBacia and this worked immediately. I have done this via the Load Temporary Addons as was suggested . Is there a full version of this so I dont have to have it as a Temp addon
Tried it with Nightly (firefox) and didnt work with the current version Tried it with Developer Edition (firefox) and same problem as before player 1/2 hidden at top left of screen , so no way of moving it .
@Flekrad, it sounds like you're hitting #842. I suggest disabling Min Vid, re-enabling and then sending a single video to the player. Also the version Vlad posted is out of date, you should try the Test pilot one.
Cheers @SoftVision-CiprianMuresan for the reply I have tried various fixes . For now I have reverted Youtube back to youtube classic , which allows min vid to work . as no matter what version of Firefox i tried i was unable to get the test pilot (other than the temp one ) to run , which was unfortunate as (the test one) Looked Great
Working for me. Nightly on Arch. 👨💼
Move working, but no window resize. 🐰
