Operation of 2 ESP32 on the same WiFi network

Open MalushSasha opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Good day.

  • One ESP32 acts as an access point (WiFi AP)
  • Another ESP32 connects to this network as a WiFi STA.
  • Both have their own local web page. And exchange get requests among themselves. In this situation, it is impossible to access web pages, they do not open. But the exchange between them remains possible and the RAM (// Serial.println(ESP.getFreeHeap());) is not loaded, no errors occur. It's just impossible to access the page. If both connect to the router in STA mode, everything works perfectly. Can you tell me where to look for the error? Links to the projects of each of ESP STA ESP AP

The solution is very simple and banal. When you think you've tried everything. It is necessary to throw everything away. Go to a cafe, drink coffee with a treat. Wink at a pretty girl. Then come home, once again write the list to check. And check everything again.

  • When an access point is created, it has an IP.
  • When the device connecting to it also has an IP.
  • And finally another ESP has an IP.

I set the IPs for the two ESPs manually. And when connected to the AP with a laptop, the access point automatically gave it the same IP that I came up with for another ESP. A coincidence of circumstances...

Руки з дупи це на завжди.
