Footer on your home page need an update: 2023 -> 2025

Did you know that you can only, purely legally, update copyright headers for files that were modified that year...

It's actually a form of fraud to edit every file with the current year. The files have to have had "substantiative changes" (e.g., more than just white space or copyright year updates).

That's the letter of the law, unless the entire project is officially registered with the US Copyright Office.

Fair point on per-file updates, but I was referring more to the site footer showing an outdated year — it gives the impression the site hasn’t been touched in a while, even if it has.

So it's not relevant to copyright headers topic.
