@mdshw5: same as @ThomVett I'm interested in the progress of this pull request as a solution to https://github.com/whatshap/whatshap/issues/151 which is included in https://github.com/HKU-BAL/Clair3/issues/163 which in turn is the most popular variant calling library for long-read sequencing data.
